Job summary

TCH Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Staff Nurse to deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You will assess, plan, educate, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate care with a family-centered approach.

Responsibilities include data collection from the medical record to coordinate patient care and ongoing collaboration with the health care team to ensure safe, effective treatment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or Associate Degree in nursing with BSN enrollment or signed agreement.
  • Associate Degree in nursing with BSN enrollment or signed agreement.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required.
  • Current Texas RN licensure required.
  • Current BLS from American Heart Association required.
  • One year of professional nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents patient/family assessments including bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.
  • Collects and analyzes data from the medical record to coordinate patient care.
  • Identifies patient teaching, discharge planning, growth/development, nutrition, functional status, and pain management needs.
  • Re-prioritizes and updates the plan of care and communicates changes to the health care team.
  • Discusses the plan of care with family and documents appropriately.
  • Evaluates patient responses and documents progress toward outcomes.
  • Implements and documents individualized teaching plans.
  • Serves as patient/family advocate and collaborates with care teams.
  • Administers and documents medications and treatments timely.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn and adopt new knowledge and skills.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Associates Degree in Nursing
BSN program enrollment
Nursing bridge program toward MSN
Current licensure Texas RN
Current BLS (American Heart Association)
1 year nursing experience

Job description

We are searching for a Staff Nurse—someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you’ll provide quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. We need someone who can collect and analyze data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.

  • OrTechnical diplomain nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in aBSN program and signed agreement

  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas is required
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association is required
  • (1) year of professional nursing experience

Responsibilities:
  • Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner
  • Collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care
  • Identifies patient's needs pertaining to patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management
  • Re-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes in the patient's condition; communicates this information to other health care team members and documents in the medical record
  • Discusses the patient's plan of care with family and/or significant individuals and documents in the medical record as appropriate
  • Evaluates and documents patient's response to the care provided and recognizes the patient's progress toward meeting the desired outcomes and discusses with the patient/family
  • Formulates, implements, and documents individualized teaching plan based on patient/family assessment
  • Serves as a patient/family advocate while caring for patients and collaborating with other health care team members
  • Administers and documents medications and treatments in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and utilize new skills needed to improve individual, team, and organizational performances
