Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our fast-paced Emergency Department. The 17-bed ED operates with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and offers a rotating schedule with mid-shifts (12p-12a) and Sunday-Friday work pattern, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact-state RN license.
• AHA BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

Job Type: Full Time | Mid-Shift

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for New Grad RNs, $20,000 Sign-On Bonus for experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment for eligible candidates.

Schedule: 3x12s, mid shift (12p-12a). Rotating weekends and holidays required. This position is Sunday-Friday, no Saturday shifts.

Join our team in a dynamic 17-bed Emergency Department (ED) with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient experiences, including Abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, we also take pride in our chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume of approximately 74 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.

What We're Looking For

Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
