Job summary

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is seeking registered nurses for its Emergency Department. Positions feature rotating shifts and a Bridge Program for staff without ED experience, enabling rapid, hands-on training.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1 yr RN experience required.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
• Assist in care coordination for patients and participate in ED training programs when needed.

Unit Highlights

Welcome to the Emergency Department at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center! The Emergency Department was completely renovated and expanded in 2021. There are 38 private treatment rooms, a dedicated behavioral health area, 8 flex chairs, and two large trauma rooms. Our Emergency Department sees over 48,000 patients per year. Gain great experience taking care of patients of all ages with various medical conditions! We are willing to train! Previous Emergency Department experience is not required.

Rotating Shift positions available.

*Nurses who do not have ED experience will take part in ourBridge Programforadditional training. *
