RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Elizabeth, NJ Emergency Department. This full-time, day shift (7A-7P) offers ongoing professional growth, a modern ED, and a supportive team.

You will conduct assessments, administer treatments, educate patients, and document care in EPIC. NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS required; BSN preferred. Three 12-hour days, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Job Overview

Trinitas Regional Medical Center ER is a state-of-the-art facility that recently underwent an $18.7 million renovation that nearly doubled the number of treatment beds from 27 to 45. Care is now delivered in highly personalized areas that address the needs of families, seniors and behavioral patients. Also included in the project are a 128-slice CT scanner and an onsite ultrasound suite that speeds up the delivery of care and provides a more detailed diagnosis. Unlike many hospitals, Trinitas Regional Medical Center is a full-service institution. Essential Functions

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocating for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education for patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and hold a current American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS upon hire or within 6 months of the start date. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. Prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 36-hour working week consisting of three 12-hour day shifts. The schedule is 7 AM-7 PM, with every other weekend and holiday rotations required.
