Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time role features 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends, delivering high-quality patient care within telemetric monitoring settings.

The candidate will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate on hire and maintain current.
• ALS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 60 days of hire and maintain.
• CEN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.
• EDAP certification within 12 months of hire.
• NRP certificate within 90 days of hire.
• TNCC within 12 months; TNCC preferred for non-trauma facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care in the Emergency Department using nursing process.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and comply with EMTALA rules.

Schedule: Full-Time, Day 12-Hour Shift/ Rotating Weekends

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current. 5. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education 3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58.
