Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care unit for a PRN night shift at our Murrells Inlet, South Carolina location. You will deliver expert nursing care, perform comprehensive assessments, and participate in multidisciplinary care planning to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires ADN with BSN/MSN preferred, SC nursing licensure, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; ACLS preferred for advanced critical care responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • RN license in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients using age-specific data to determine physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments, interpret lab/test results, and document findings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient teaching and discharge planning to promote continued recovery and continuity of care.

A Brief Overview
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice: accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

What you will do

  • Assesses, utilizing age specific data, the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status in a comprehensive manner.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention. Completes required documentation within organizational standards.
  • Participates in the identification and clarification of patient needs, as evidenced by participation in multidisciplinary care planning, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Incorporates patient teaching/discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.

Education Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an acute care critical care setting. Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
