Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU).

This variable full-time role offers three 12-hour day shifts from 7am to 7pm with rotating weekends in a 43-bed CPCU serving adult cardiac patients. Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains Florida RN license or valid eNLC license (NCLEX).
• Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1+ year RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
• Functions as a patient and family advocate.
• Provides age-appropriate nursing care for the unit's adult patients.
• Preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator or nurse clinician responsibilities.
• Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage care.
• Serves as a role model and supports unit goals.
• Coordinates care and delegates appropriately to other team members.

ABOUT DPH CARDIAC PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT (CPCU)

• The CPCU, a 43 bed unit, serves the adult population by offering Level II Cardiac Services
• The types of patients served are as follows: Acute Heart Failure, Acute or Uncontrolled Arrhythmias, Chest Pain, Cardiac Catheterization and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assesses patient’s needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluates the patient’s progress towards attaining expected outcomes.
• Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
• Functions as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned.
• Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/ or nurse clinician.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
• Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age‑specific needs.
• Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license (must have passed NCLEX).
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

• 1+ year RN experience
