Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab.

This full-time role requires strong clinical judgment, bedside support during complex interventions, and a commitment to patient safety within four 10-hour shifts. The Cath Lab team performs a range of procedures with an emphasis on interventional radiology, electrophysiology, and STEMI readiness. Applicants should hold Florida RN licensure, BLS, and be prepared for call

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• 2+ years of Cath Lab, ER or ICU experience.
• Maintains current Florida RN licensure and BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies.
• Utilizes information to anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identifies information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based action.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients and interprets electronic displays.
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observes, monitors, assesses patients and calls Physician or takes emergency measures as needed.
• Preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician roles.
• Acts as a role model and supports department goals and strategies.

Title: Registered Nurse, Advanced Care | Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cath Lab
Status: Full-time
Shift: Four 10-hour shifts between Monday - Friday
On-Call: Call required (30 min call time)

About Dph Cath Lab

• The Dr. P Phillips Cardiac Cath Lab is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital, next to PACU. The Cath Lab has four (4) Cardiac Cath Lab suites; Lab 1, 2, 3, 4.
• Lab 1 is mostly utilized for Interventional Radiology, some Heart Catheterizations, and vascular studies.
• Lab 2 is utilized for most of the procedures performed in the Cath Lab; Electrophysiology (implants only), Heart Catheterizations, Interventional Radiology and Peripheral cases.
• Lab 3 and 4 are our STEMI/multipurpose labs that can be utilized for all service line procedures including and dedicated for Ablations and Electrophysiology Studies.
• The Cath Lab has a pre/post procedural area with seven bays dedicated to monitored stretchers and fours bays dedicated to the Radial Lounge with four monitored recliners. The pre/post procedural area is hard wired for monitoring hemodynamics of our patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient focused action.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Observes, monitors, and assesses patients’ condition, recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious situations and calls Physician or takes preplanned emergency measures when Physician is not immediately available.
• Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/ or nurse clinician.
• Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
• Collaborates with the education department and nursing leadership team to effectively transition and support new team members and/or students.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification

Experience

• 2+ years of recent Cath Lab, ER or ICU experience
• Cath lab experience preferred
