Saint Francis Hospital's Congestive Heart Failure Unit in Hartford, CT, is a nationally recognized Center Of Excellence. This RN role provides specialized care to adults with cardiac conditions, monitors status, administers medications, and coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams using nurse-driven protocols on a 12-hour day shift.

You will educate patients and families on disease management, respond to acute changes, and help reduce readmissions.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program.
• Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut.
• Certification: BLS (AHA/ARC).

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital the Congestive Heart Failure Unit provides care to adults with a variety of medical diagnoses, including, but not limited to, cardiac conditions such as AFIB, CAD, STEMI, pacemaker, ICD placements and soon LVADs. Our newly renovated 32 bed unit is a nationally recognized Center Of Excellence for Heart Failure. Primary patient diagnosis on this unit is acute or chronic CHF.

What you will do

In this critical role you will be part of a collaborative team, play an active part in unit shared decision making, and enjoy practice autonomy using nurse driven protocols. You will provide specialized care to patients with congestive heart failure. Monitors cardiac status, fluid balance, and symptoms; administers and manages cardiac medications; coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams; educates patients and families on disease management; and responds to acute changes to prevent decompensation and reduce readmissions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduates preferred.
• Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut.
• Certification: BLS (AHA/ARC).

Preferred Skills:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree preferred.
• Experience: Acute care, Medical-Surgical, Congestive Heart Failure experience preferred.
• Certification: ACLS preferred.

Work Schedule

• Full Time – 36 Hour/Day Shift
• Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Pay Range: $37.25 - $61.75 per hour

Pay is based on RN experience. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
