Registered Nurse (RN-CNI), Med Surg Specialty - Cardiac, Night, ONA

UC Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN-CNI) for the Cardiovascular Med Surg Department for the Night Shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Registered Nurse (RN-CNI) will support the Medical Center's 28-bed unit, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN-CNI) is licensed to practice nursing and provides specialized, judgment-based care to groups and individuals. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, considering cultural and age-specific needs.

  • Provide care for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, pre-bypass, valve replacement, and post-heart transplant.
  • Prepare, implement, evaluate, revise, and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members and patients/families.
  • Communicate care plans effectively to all team members and prioritize patient needs based on assessment.
  • Give clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatments, involving them in care processes.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral health issues and cultural or religious needs.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Accurately document nursing care and evaluations in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff and float personnel.
  • Maintain personal professional development and contribute to team growth.
