Job description

UC Health is hiring a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for pre-admission testing on the First shift (First Shift; 4 9's) at UC Medical Center.

The CPC Nurse will support UC Medical Center's pre-admission testing and same-day surgery center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and policies and procedures. Staff will be oriented and rotate through phone screens, chart preparation, and performing nurse visits.

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice involves specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals.
  • The RN uses knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Care is culturally based and age-specific.
  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary care plans for each patient in collaboration with healthcare team members and the patient/family, within the standards of practice.
  • Communicates care plans to all involved staff and establishes care priorities based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Provides clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment, involving them in assessment and ongoing care.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to behavioral health issues, psychological needs, or cultural/religious norms.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Documents nursing processes accurately and concisely, including treatment evaluations, in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for new staff and float personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development, contributing to peer growth.
