Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis seeks a Nurse Educator to lead unit/department clinical orientation and provide in-service training for new and current Associates.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs to enhance performance and professional development, while modeling MLH's mission and values.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, 3-5 years of nursing experience, and active RN licensure in Tennessee; travel may be required.

A Brief Overview

  • Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Required - Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
  • Preferred - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care
  • Preferred - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Arkansas - Arkansas State Medical Board
  • Preferred - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Mississippi - Mississippi State Department of Health
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and skill in clinical care.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in a specialized clinical field.
Supervision Provided by this Position

There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

Must have good balance and coordination.

The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25lbs. of force frequently.

The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.

Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.

Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.

Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Frequent travel outside hospital.
