Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing program is required.
• HS Diploma/GED only required if graduate from a nursing diploma program.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.

• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff, promoting evidence-based practices.
• Evaluates service practices, identifies opportunities to improve patient experience and takes appropriate actions that result in increased satisfaction.
• Facilitates a collaborative work environment; builds and develops a motivated team through onboarding, orientation, initial qualification and ongoing staff development.
• Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including monitoring unit performance metrics and contributing to quality improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in the critical care setting through auditing.
• Support crisis management, patient flow, and other operational challenges within the unit.

This individual will work closely with the Nurse Manager to manage staffing, coordinate clinical activities, and uphold care standards in the critical care unit. The coordinator will also serve as a leader by assisting with staff development, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, the coordinator will step into direct patient care roles as needed, especially during periods of high demand or staffing shortages, ensuring smooth workflow and continuity of care.
