Our state-of-the-art Pediatric Operating Room (OR) is located within the Children's Hospital of Richmond, which opened in April 2023. Our Pediatric Perioperative Services Team has transformed pediatric care in the Richmond Region, offering comprehensive, around-the-clock services.
Our facility features six carefully designed Operating Rooms and two Procedure Rooms, ensuring children receive top-quality care in a friendly environment. We handle 12 to 24 cases daily across various specialties including Otolaryngology (ENT), Genitourinary (GU), Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, and Trauma.
We focus on excellence, with a team of dedicated professionals committed to patient well-being and comfort. Experience in a Level 1 Pediatric OR is valued, but we also welcome nurses with at least 1 year of OR experience who are passionate about pediatric care.

The Clinical Nurse II role demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and begins applying this knowledge to a specific patient population. Responsibilities include assisting with illness prevention, wellness maintenance, comfort provision, recognizing patient changes, and intervening appropriately. The role involves mobilizing resources, providing guidance and education, and assuming leadership at the unit level. It includes delivering and documenting age-specific care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary care plans, safely administering medications, and identifying potential interactions.
The Clinical Nurse III role reflects advanced clinical knowledge at the unit level, with responsibilities similar to the Nurse II but with greater emphasis on clinical expertise, role modeling, and leadership.
Practices follow physician orders, Virginia nursing regulations, ANA Code of Ethics, and hospital policies. Supervisory responsibilities include organizing work and delegating tasks. Work shifts include all three shifts, weekends, and holidays with schedules set by management. Physical demands include lifting, prolonged standing, and exposure to hazardous substances. The environment is fast-paced and requires strong reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
