RWJBarnabas Health's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit is seeking a Night shift RN in New Jersey. This 11-bed unit delivers specialized care from infancy through young adulthood, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusions, and bone marrow transplantation.

Active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, APHON chemotherapy certification, and 1 year pediatric experience required. Night shift, 36 hours/week; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit is an 11-bed unit that provides specialized care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of hematological and oncologic disorders. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive family-centered care to these patients throughout their treatment journey including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product transfusions, bone marrow transplantation, symptom management, and end-of-life care. As a center actively involved in clinical research, we offer patients access to innovative clinical trials while providing evidence-based, compassionate care that promotes the best possible outcomes.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patientsProviding safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgmentServing as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisionsProviding clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of careEnsuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safetyContributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of careTaking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomesPursuing continued professional growth through access to continuing education, clinical ladder opportunities, and organizational resources that support long term career progression

Requirements

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and APHON Chemotherapy Certification are required. 1-year previous Pediatric experience is required.

Previous Pediatric Oncology experience preferred.

An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Night Shift, 36 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am.
