Registered Nurse (RN) - Children's Emergency Department (ED)

About the Position

The 16-bed Children's ED at ECU Health Medical Center is the only facility in eastern North Carolina specifically designed, equipped, and staffed to provide emergency care for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. As a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, it offers 24/7 access to physicians and clinicians specializing in pediatric emergencies, handling a broad range of conditions including dental, eye, cardiac, orthopedic, traumatic injuries, and more.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other relevant standards. Care includes assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation tailored to the age-specific needs of pediatric patients. Collaborates with the healthcare team, delegates tasks appropriately, and promotes effective team functioning.

Minimum Requirements
  • Current NC RN license or licensure in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Details
  • Position: 0.6 FTE (2) 12-hour night shifts per week (7 pm - 7 am)
