Job summary

University Hospitals' Center for Advanced Surgery in Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, efficient age-specific nursing care using the nursing process to help patients and families attain optimal health. The 12-bed med-surg unit serves post-surgical patients.

You will implement nursing care, demonstrate technical skills, communicate clearly, and collaborate to optimize care while contributing to professional nursing practice.

Qualifications

• RN license in Ohio or Multi-State Compact.
• 1 year of RN experience required; med-surg preferred.
• BLS required upon hire or during orientation.
• ACLS/PALS may be required per unit's standards.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

The Center for Advanced Surgery is a 12 bed medical surgical unit that primarily serves post surgical patients.

• Other Accredited Program: Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
• 1 year of RN experience required. Prior med surg experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) or obtained during nursing orientation
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
