Job summary

Metrowest Medical Center - Consolidated seeks an experienced Registered Nurse in Framingham, MA. The role requires critical care experience across ICU, PACU or ER with a MA RN license and BLS; ACLS in some areas. You will work under nursing management to deliver high‑quality patient care across all ages.

You will document with MWMC forms, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement activities while supporting patient education and care planning.

Qualifications

  • Active MA RN license required.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS required in some units.
  • All certifications must be from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: 6–12 months in the specialty; PALS preferred for PACU.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care across the care continuum with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Transcribe and input physician orders accurately into the nursing order system.
  • Collaborate with physicians, diabetic educators, social workers and staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Complete documentation using MWMC forms including SNAP, PIE notes, CBE notations and incident reports.

Job description

2 years of critical care experience required. Critical can be described as ICU of any variety, PACU, or ER. Experience as a circulating nurse or in procedural areas will also be considered.

Under general supervision of the unit's nursing management, performs duties to ensure quality patient care through the health care continuum. Ensures quality and safe delivery of care to patients in the following age groups: All ages; Neonate; Infancy; Toddler, Preschool; School age; Adolescent; Adult; Geriatric.

  • Performs all aspects of clinical practice according to standards of care, including, but not limited to: assessment, planning, implementing, evaluation, intervention, organization of work, priority setting, decision making, follow up, activities of daily living, IV Therapy, EKG's
  • Demonstrates clinical judgment in assigning duties to nursing staff consistent with documented level of competency
  • Participates in unit based quality control initiatives, identifies opportunities for performance improvement, and takes appropriate action.
  • Collaborates effectively with the multidisciplinary team; i.e., physicians, diabetic educator, pastoral care, interpreters, social workers, case managers, wound care nurses, and community resource groups and services, to benefit the patient.
  • Completes documentation using approved MWMC forms according to established legal and MWMC policy and procedure. Includes, but is not limited to, SNAP tool, patient teaching forms, PIE notes, CBE notations, and incident forms. Transcribes and inputs physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, using the nurse order entry system.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Required:
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
      • BLS required
      • ACLS required in some areas
      • All certificates need to be from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred:
    • Experience: Minimum of six months to one year of experience in specialty area preferred
    • Licensure/Certification: PALS preferred for PACU
