**Details**

+ Department: Cardiothoracic Stepdown

+ Schedule: FT & PT Nights; 12 hr. shifts, E/3rd weekend, holiday rotation

+ Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent

+ Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

We are a 48-bed high-acuity ICU stepdown unit offering bedside cardiac care with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4. Our nurses specialize in caring for specific subsets of heart failure patients, including those with LVADs. Additionally, we provide care for open heart surgeries (CABG, valve repair, etc.), heart transplants, kidney transplants, leg bypass, and various cardiovascular conditions requiring chest tubes. **Responsibilities**

• Provide direct nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of multidisciplinary patient care.
• Note and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

**Requirements**

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing prior to hire or transfer.
• Education:
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school/college OR current professional licensure at the time of hire.

**Additional Preferences**

• Previous bedside experience
