We Are Hiring
  • Sign-on bonus available
  • Department: Cardiothoracic Stepdown
  • Schedule: FT & PT Nights; 12 hr., shifts, E/3rd weekend, holiday rotation
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
  • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

We are a 48 bed high acuity ICU stepdown unit offering bedside cardiac care, 1:3 or 1:4 nurse to patient ratios. Our nurses specialize in caring for a specific subset of heart failure patients, those with LVADs. In addition, we provide care for open heart (CABG, valve repair, etc), heart transplant, kidney transplant, leg bypass, and a wide variety of CV's requiring chest tubes. What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
