Job summary

West Jefferson Medical Center, part of the LCMC Health family, seeks an experienced RN to support cardiac care in a hands-on environment. You will perform and assist with cardiac tests, engage with patients and families, and contribute to a culture that puts patient safety and compassionate care at the forefront.

Must have 1+ years as an RN, current Louisiana nursing license, and BLS certification. Cardiac experience is preferred; a collaborative team approach and strong communication are

• Perform and manage cardiac stress tests with patient safety.
• Assist physicians with TEE, cardioversions, loop recorder implants, tilt-table studies.
• Support sonographers with IV placement and patient care in Cardiology.
• Lead prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and adherence to infection control.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate continuum of care resources.
• Contribute to the team by helping others as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Your Everyday Perform and manage all cardiac stress tests, ensuring safe and appropriate patient care throughout the procedure. Assist physicians with cardiac procedures, including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), cardioversions, loop recorder implants, and tilt-table studies. Support sonographers with IV placement and other patient care needs within the Cardiology Department. Provide comprehensive patient care, monitoring, education, and procedural support to promote patient safety and quality outcomes. Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care. Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone. Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns. Prevent and treat wounds. Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements. Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient. Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely. Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services. Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Must-Haves

1+ years of experience as an RN Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Current American Heart Association BLS certification. Preferred: 1+ years of experience in cardiac.
