The Staff Pad is partnering with a regional healthcare system to recruit Registered Nurses for a high-acuity Cardiac Telemetry Unit in Wausau, WI. This role strengthens critical care experience serving patients with complex cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary needs in a collaborative step-down setting.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure in Wisconsin or Michigan.
• Assoc. Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS (CPR) required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS required within six months of hire.
• Demonstrated teamwork and dedication to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care with continuous cardiac monitoring in a 44-bed telemetry unit.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions using clinical judgment.
• Care for patients recovering from heart, vascular, and pulmonary procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and standards of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.

Schedule: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE (72 Hours per Pay Period)

• 12-hour shifts | Every 3rd weekend | Two holidays per year

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN license
• Current BLS (CPR) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

What You’ll Do

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring in a 44-bed Cardiac Telemetry step-down unit
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Care for patients recovering from heart, vascular, and lung procedures and surgeries
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions, including:
  • Acute coronary syndrome, Myocardial infarction & Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Congestive heart failure, Cardiomyopathy & Pulmonary embolism
  • Pulmonary hypertension, Pneumothorax, Emphysema & Hypertensive urgency
  • Peripheral vascular disease & valvular heart disease
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with evidence-based practice and physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and quality standards
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
