Job summary

The Staff Pad is recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity Cardiac Telemetry Unit in Wausau, Wisconsin. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care for complex cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary patients in a collaborative step-down setting.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing with an active WI or MI RN license, BLS, and ACLS within six months. BSN is preferred for career growth and advancement opportunities.

• BSN preferred
• Active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN license
• Current BLS (CPR) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• ACLS required within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring in a 44-bed Cardiac Telemetry step-down unit
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment
• Care for patients recovering from heart, vascular, and lung procedures and surgeries
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions and interventions
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure policy compliance
• Promote patient safety and high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment

The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading regional healthcare system to recruit Registered Nurses for a high-acuity Cardiac Telemetry Unit in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Schedule: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE (72 Hours per Pay Period)

• 12-hour shifts | Every 3rd weekend | Two holidays per year
• 3:00 AM – 3:00 PM | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

What You’ll Do

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring in a 44-bed Cardiac Telemetry step-down unit
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Care for patients recovering from heart, vascular, and lung procedures and surgeries
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions, including:
  • Acute coronary syndrome, Myocardial infarction & Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Congestive heart failure, Cardiomyopathy & Pulmonary embolism
  • Pulmonary hypertension, Pneumothorax, Emphysema & Hypertensive urgency
  • Peripheral vascular disease & valvular heart disease
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with evidence-based practice and physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and quality standards
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
