Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team. This full-time position supports a day shift schedule (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) with a 36-hour work week and opportunities for advancement through Clinical Ladder.

You will provide direct patient care, assessments, and care planning within a multidisciplinary team, while ensuring safety and quality through adherence to hospital protocols and documentation standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • 1+ acute care hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, regularly evaluating and revising as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, care activities and outcomes.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
  • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
  • EKG competency
  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
