Job summary

Tidelands Health in Georgetown, South Carolina seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory to deliver nursing care during catheterization and related procedures.

You will support the team, monitor patient status, provide education, and ensure safety and high-quality outcomes throughout the care cycle. Applicants should hold an ADN (BSN preferred), SC RN licensure, and be proficient with EMR systems; BLS is required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• SC RN license with BLS within 30 days; ACLS preferred.
• Interventional Cath Lab or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantation.
• Assist physicians during catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker procedures.
• Keep patients calm and relaxed during awake portions of procedures.
• Administer medications as needed.
• Provide proper after-procedure care and education.
• Monitor vital signs and coordinate care with the care team.

A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse - Catheterization Laboratory is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

What you will do

• Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations.
• Assist physician in the catheterization, angioplasty and pacemaker implantations processes.
• Keep patients calm and relaxed during procedures where they're required to be awake.
• Administer appropriate medicine when needed.
• Perform proper after procedure care.
• Check vital signs of the patient with proper care.
• Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge.

Education Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
• Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• Critical care experience Preferred
• Previous Interventional Cath Lab nursing Preferred

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers with a high level of customer service orientation required.
• Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
• Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
• Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
