Job Summary and Qualifications

About this unit: Cardiac Telemetry nurses assess acute changes in patients. They monitor and analyze the heart rhythm of patients, interpret ECGs, note arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations. Our Cardiac Telemetry unit is unique in that our nurses take care of patients recovering from open heart surgeries, heart catheterization with stent placement, ablations, pacemaker/AICD placement, and cardiovascular surgeries.

What you will do in this role:

  1. Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  2. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  3. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  4. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.

What qualifications you will need:

  1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  2. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  3. Registered Nurse Diploma.
