Job summary

Advocate Health Care’s Downers Grove location seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 32-bed Cardiac Unit caring for patients with complex heart conditions. You will monitor patients with continuous cardiac monitoring, collaborate with cardiologists and surgeons, and deliver evidence-based nursing care.

Completion of an accredited nursing program, active RN license in Illinois, and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices (IL).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Our nurses provide continuous cardiac monitoring with patient ratios of 4–5, collaborating closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care. The team culture is supportive with a shared commitment for optimal cardiac nursing care while also providing a truly extraordinary patient experience.

We’re Looking For

What You’ll Do

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
