Type: PRN/Hourly | 12-hour shifts per pay period

Department Overview

The Adult Psychiatric Unit is a 29-bed locked unit providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals aged 18-59. Patients over 59 are evaluated individually. The unit manages primary DSM-5 diagnoses along with comorbidities such as Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and medical conditions. Safety practices include 15-minute safety checks, staff monitoring, and presence during meals and visits. Nursing care involves daily psychiatric assessments, therapy, and medication management tailored to adult needs. Nurses work 12-hour shifts (7A & 7P) with a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a current state RN license and an associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Dysrhythmia certification (preferred)
