Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health. You will join a 12-bed adult behavioral health unit delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

The role is PRN with various shifts, requiring an active Virginia RN license, BLS, and experience in med/surg or behavioral health. Competitive hourly pay and robust benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Relocation licensure to PSOR before employment begins.
• One year of med/surg or behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care.
• Document medical necessity and care plans in the medical record.
• Maintain interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
• Complete timely QA assessments.

Join the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) team, where we're growing together! Our 12-bed unit provides adult, acute behavioral health treatment. With plans to expand the service, there's plenty of room for professional growth as we grow our team culture!

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role will:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire
• Handle with Care is required within 6 months of hire
• ACLS, PALS & ACLS is preferred
• One year of med/surg or behavioral health experience is preferred
