Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health Intake in Hickory, NC. The role reviews referrals, accepts patients, and makes rapid determinations in a fast-paced setting.

A sign-on bonus up to 20,000 is available with a 2-year commitment. The ideal candidate holds an NC RN license with at least one year of psychiatric experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review referrals' clinical documentation and accept patients.
• Make determinations in under 15 minutes in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Document medical necessity in the medical record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

Join our weekend team of Intake Nurses!

The primary responsibility is to review clinical documentation from referrals and accept patients.

This is fast paced environment where ability to gather information and make a determination in less than 15 minutes is standard.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we are looking for

License: Current Registered Nurse to practice/work in the state of NC

Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 daysof hire
• Handle With Care certification is required within 30 days of hire
• One (1) Year of Psych experience required

One (1) year of Intake experience preferred but not required

Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
