Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health Intake in Hickory, NC. You will assess referrals, determine patient needs quickly, and coordinate psychiatric care plans with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires NC RN licensure, BLS, and WC handling certification within 30 days. A 2-year Behavioral Health experience is preferred and the campus offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
• Handle With Care certification within 30 days of hire
• Two years of Behavioral Health/Psych experience required

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation from referrals and accept patients
• Work in a fast-paced environment to gather information and make a determination within 15 minutes
• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments
• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age
• Perform timely documentation of medical necessity in the record
• Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments

The Behavioral Health Services at Frye Regional Medical Center South Campus serves as the gateway to care, helping connect patients with the behavioral health services and support they need. Our 83-bed campus provides a safe, therapeutic environment where team members collaborate with experienced clinicians, physicians, and leadership to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care. • Set Schedule: 3x12s/ Friday, Saturday and Sunday

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Responsible for reviewing clinical documentation from referrals and accepting patients.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with the ability to gather information and make a determination in less than 15 minutes.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatments.
• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle With Care certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Two years of Behavioral Health/ Psych experience required.
