Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Behavioral Health team on a full-time basis. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with the interprofessional team, and support a therapeutic environment on a 3x12 hour day shift with a $20,000 commitment incentive.

Active NC RN licensure is required, with BLS and Handle With Care certifications due within 30 days.

Qualificações

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license is required.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle With Care certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of Behavioral Health/Psych experience is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process for behavioral health patients.
• Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and outcomes.
• Performs plan-of-care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors and reports patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Coordinates care with transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
• Delivers age- and culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for patient well-being and participates in performance improvement.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients.
• Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes.
• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle With Care certification is required within 30 days of hire.

At least 1 year of Behavioral Health/ Psych experience required.
