Job summary

Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, is seeking a skilled RN to provide and coordinate comprehensive inpatient behavioral health care on Unit 1 South. The role involves delivering safe, therapeutic nursing care and coordinating patient plans with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based practice.

The position requires RN licensure, an accredited nursing program, and preferred Psychiatric-mental health certification with strong de-escalation

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program
• Current RN license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health RN experience strongly preferred
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Behavioral Health experience with strong de-escalation skills
• Psychiatric-mental health or (professional nursing) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice and compassionate communication.

Job description

This position will float between -BH-Charlotte and BH-Davidson.

Where You Will Work:

Behavioral Health – Charlotte, Unit 1 South is an 18‑bed inpatient adult unit providing acute behavioral health services.

We're Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Minimum one (2) years of Behavioral Health RN experience strongly preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Behavioral Health experience with strong de-escalation skills
• Psychiatric-mental health or (professional nursing) certification preferred

What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, is the only dedicated psychiatric emergency department in the region, and provides treatment across a broad continuum of inpatient and outpatient services.
