Job description

Overview

Our Behavioral Health Emergency Department unit consists of 6 beds supporting high-risk mental health patients during critical psychiatric events. Our care team’s priority is to provide therapeutic nursing care in a safe and controlled environment to stabilize their illness while developing a healthy care plan. As the primary nurse, you will collaborate with our crisis team, psychiatric and emergency physicians/nurses, care managers, and security staff. An effective candidate will have a passion for critical care psychiatric nursing, empathy, a compassionate approach, high emotional intelligence, and diligence in providing one-on-one support for patient needs.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization responsible for autonomous practice guided by the profession's core tenets: practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist, and transferor. The Clinical Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care, continuously monitor, and evaluate practice to ensure safe patient outcomes aligned with the best interests of the populations served.

  3. Use critical thinking to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking appropriate action or escalating as necessary.

  5. Seek feedback actively and strive to improve performance.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Required Licensure/Certifications
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS certification required within 6 months of hire.
