Job summary

Fairview Range in Hibbing, MN is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse for inpatient Behavioral Health. You will provide direct and indirect nursing care, supervise unit operations as charge nurse, and facilitate unit groups.

The role supports two inpatient acute psychiatric units with adult patients. Schedule includes 8-hour day/evening shifts, 40-56 hours per two weeks, weekends 2/4. Internal posting window through 2026-08-13.

Qualifications

• Minnesota RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within six months.
• BCS certification required or obtained within three months.
• MH nursing experience (preferred) or two years general nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a total systems assessment upon admission and ongoing assessments.
• Identify patient needs and nursing diagnoses and incorporate into an individualized plan of care.
• Provide age-appropriate direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines.
• Recognize and report adverse patient conditions to the physician promptly.
• Promote Patient and Family Centered care concepts: dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration.

Job Overview

Fairview Range is looking for a passionate Registered Nurse for inpatient Behavioral Health in Hibbing, MN!

The Behavioral Health RN provides direct and indirect total nursing care to patients, oversees unit operations for a shift when functioning as charge nurse, and facilitates unit groups. Our inpatient Behavioral Health department expanded in 2016 and now includes two inpatient, acute psychiatric units. Both units treat a range of mental health issues in adult patients.

Schedule:

This position is 40-56 hours per two weeks, 8-hour day/evening shifts. Weekends: 2&4.

About this unit:

• 34 beds between 2 units
• Multidisciplinary care team including Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs, Unit Assistants, Social Workers, and Mental Health Practitioners.
• Patient population: adult (ages 18+)

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities

• Perform a total systems assessment according to established policies (including physical, psychosocial and spiritual data) upon admission, as well as ongoing assessments.
• Identifies patient needs and/or nursing diagnosis based on analysis of collected data and incorporates into an individualized plan of care.
• Provides age specific direct patient care in collaboration with all disciplines according to standards of care.
• Recognizes and reports adverse patient condition to the physician in a timely manner.
• Promotes the following Patient and Family Centered care concepts: dignity and respect, information sharing within the scope for behavioral health, participation, and collaboration.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN Licensure.
• Current BLS certification or attends BLS class within six months of employment and maintains certification.
• Current BCS certification or attains within three months and maintains certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• One-year previous experience in Mental Health nursing or two years professional nursing experience.
