Position: Associate Manager (Registered Professional Nurse)

The Associate Manager is a Registered Professional Nurse in a first-line supervisory position responsible for providing unit and shift-specific supervision and leadership in areas such as patient experience, patient care, unit operations, and staff functioning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the unit, including performance management, coaching/mentoring, policy enforcement, and facilitating department meetings.
  2. Assist the Unit Leader in achieving department goals related to patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and budget management. Attend "bed huddles" and/or act as the manager's designee as needed.
  3. Support staffing and scheduling decisions, including controlling overtime and coordinating meals and breaks.
  4. Perform purposeful rounding on each patient each shift.
  5. Communicate effectively with physicians and patient families to resolve difficult situations.
  6. Work with Care Coordinators for safe and timely patient discharges.
  7. Support interdepartmental care delivery to optimize outcomes by correlating nursing competencies with patient needs and staff assignment.
Minimum Education and Certifications
  • Required: 2-year Associate Degree in Nursing (RN license in Ohio)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (BSN)
