Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse for the Therapeutic Apheresis Specialty Program. Shifts are two 10-hour days, 7:00 am–5:30 pm, with evening call.

The role supports inpatient and outpatient care across the Inova Health System, performing apheresis procedures such as ECP, leukapheresis, plasmapheresis, plateletpheresis, RBC exchange, and therapeutic phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. ADN with BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Virginia RN license or eligibility; BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable clinical practice and care coordination.
• Deliver safe, holistic patient care in collaboration with the care team.
• Support patient and family education and collaborate across disciplines.

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse for the Therapeutic Apheresis Specialty Program.

Our nurses work Monday – Friday, two 10-hour shifts, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm and take evening call.

The Apheresis Program helps inpatient and outpatient patients for the entire Inova Health System. Some of the procedures include Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP), Leukapheresis (White Blood Cell Depletion), Plasmapheresis (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange), Plateletpheresis (Platelet Depletion), Red Blood Cell (RBC) Exchange and Therapeutic Phlebotomy.

The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.

Apheresis RN Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of one-year Critical Care Registered Nurseexperience in the acute care setting required or completion of critical care fellowship
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required through American Heart Association
• Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within 90 days of hire
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills

Apheresis RN Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Apheresis, perfusion or dialysis experience
