Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is actively seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for the Therapeutic Apheresis Specialty Program. The RN will support apheresis procedures across Inova Health System, including ECP, leukapheresis, plasmapheresis and more, in a Magnet-designated hospital renowned for safety and patient experience.

Qualifications include a BSN, Virginia RN license or eligibility, BLS, ACLS and PALS within 90 days. Strong English communication is essential; prior CCU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year Critical Care RN experience in an acute care setting.
• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• RN license or eligible to practice in Virginia.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable clinical nursing care and care coordination for apheresis patients.
• Collaborate with inpatient and outpatient teams across Inova Health System.
• Document care, educate patients and families, and ensure safety and quality in care delivery.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for the Therapeutic Apheresis Specialty Program.

The Apheresis Program helps inpatient and outpatient patients for the entire Inova Health System. Some of the procedures include Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP), Leukapheresis (White Blood Cell Depletion), Plasmapheresis (Therapeutic Plasma Exchange), Plateletpheresis (Platelet Depletion), Red Blood Cell (RBC) Exchange and Therapeutic Phlebotomy.

The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.

Apheresis RN Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of one-year Critical Care Registered Nurseexperience in the acute care setting required or completion of critical care fellowship
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required through American Heart Association
• Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within 90 days of hire
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills

Apheresis RN Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Apheresis, perfusion or dialysis experience
