Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse in California for the Ambulatory Surgery department. You will provide direct patient care from pediatrics to geriatrics and collaborate with surgeons and the anesthesiologist to support perioperative outcomes.

Responsibilities include maintaining surgical equipment, managing supplies, and ensuring the OR meets patient and team needs. Requires CA RN license and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• New graduate with BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have worked as a surgical tech at a Tenet Healthcare facility within the last year.
• Recent nursing graduate; Must not have been through a previous New Grad Residency Program; Must have less than 6 months RN experience.

Uses unique knowledge and skills to contribute to perioperative patient outcomes that are defined as observable or measurable physiological, psychosocial and psychological responses to perioperative nursing interventions. Communicates and collaborates with surgeon(s) and the anesthesiologist continuously regarding the patient's condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Obtains supplies for individual cases, ensures that operating room equipment is available and functioning, and that all appropriate needs of the patient and surgical team are met.

Minimum Education

• New graduate with BSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Must have successfully worked as a surgical tech at a Tenet Healthcare facility within the last year.
• Recent graduate of nursing school; Must not have been through a previous New Grad Residency Program; Must have less than 6 months RN experience.

Minimum Experience/Skills

• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Current ACLS certification (AHA certified) (must obtain within 90 days of hire/transfer)
