Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center is hiring for a part-time RN (0.5 FTE) on the Day shift in Minnesota. Starting pay ranges from $35.01 to $52.52 hourly, based on experience. The job includes comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited professional nursing program.
• Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification.
• Registered Nurse with a current license; wound care certification preferred, medical/surgical, home health, or wound care also preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as web-based database programs and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment of health status through data collection, analysis and planning of care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
• Develop nursing interventions to be integrated into the plan of care.
• Implement nursing care through independent actions.
• Implement interventions delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed provider.
• Delegate nursing tasks to implement the plan of care.
• Provide safe and effective nursing care.
• Promote a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Advocate for the best interests of patients.
• Evaluate responses to interventions and plan effectiveness.
• Coordinate with other health professionals across care settings.
• Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and care coordination.
• Design and implement teaching plans based on patient needs.
• Assist in developing healthcare policies and procedures.
• Maintain and evaluate nursing competencies and adherence to standards.
• Manage information per state and federal regulations.
• Attend approved Undersea Hyperbarics Medical Society Course.
• Communicate effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Practice of Professional Nursing includes but is not limited to:
• Providing a comprehensive assessment of the health status of a patient through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data used to establish a health statue baseline and plan of care. The RN also addresses changes in the patient condition.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan or care.
• Developing nursing interventions to be integrated into the plan of care.
• Implementing nursing care through the execution of independent nursing actions.
• Implementing interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
• Delegating nursing tasks or assigning nursing activities to implement the plan of care.
• Providing safe and effective nursing care.
• Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Advocating for the best interests of individual patients.
• Evaluating responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care.
• Collaborating and coordinating with other healthcare professional in the management and implementation of care within and across care settings and communities.
• Providing health promotion, disease prevention, care coordination, and case finding.
• Designing and implementing teaching plans based on patient need and evaluating teaching effectiveness.
• Participating in the development of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
• Is accountable for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse's competency; and performing at the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected if an individual has completed an approved professional nursing education program.
• Managing, supervising and evaluating the practice of nursing.
• Maintaining OMC organization competencies and nursing competencies pertinent to area of practice.
• Managing information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Attend an approved Undersea Hyperbarics Medical Society Course.
• Communicates effectively.
• Other duties as assigned.
