Job summary

White Glove Placement New York is seeking a Travel Psychiatric RN to care for adult patients in an acute psychiatric setting for a 13-week assignment.

The role requires NY RN license, 1 year psychiatry experience, 6 months medical/surgical/ICU/ER experience, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ability to float between units. Shift coverage includes nights and days with weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
• Minimum 6 months of medical experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry/PCU/ICU/ER)
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications
• BronxCare de-escalation training
• CPI experience preferred; onsite training may be provided
• BSN preferred but not required
• Experience with IM injections and phlebotomy preferred
• Comfortable with medically stable psychiatric patients
• Willing to float between psychiatric units
• Must manage patient safety and behavioral health needs
• First-time travelers welcome

Job description

Make an impact in behavioral health with a 13-week Travel Psychiatric RN opportunity caring for adult patients in an acute psychiatric setting. This role is ideal for a compassionate and adaptable RN with strong psychiatric and medical experience.

Position Highlights

• Profession: RN

• Specialty: Adult Psychiatry

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour nights/days

• Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week

• Patient Population: Adults 18+ with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, substance abuse, depression, borderline personality disorder, and intellectual disabilities

• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8 on nights

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation, approximately 2–3 holidays per year

• Call: None; travelers may occasionally be asked to pick up a shift during emergencies

• Floating: Travelers are first to float to other adolescent or adult psychiatric units

Minimum Requirements

• Active NY RN License

• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required

• Minimum 6 months of prior medical experience required, such as Med/Surg, Telemetry, PCU, ICU, or ER

• BLS certification required

• ACLS certification required

• PALS certification required

• BronxCare Hospital Center de-escalation training required

• CPI experience preferred; training may be provided onsite

• BSN preferred but not required

• Must be flexible with floating between psychiatric units
