Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Virginia seeks an Experienced Registered Nurse for the 4S (IMC/PCU) team. This part-time night shift (2 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) offers a dynamic, team-focused environment with strong time-management requirements.

The RN will conduct health assessments, craft individualized care plans, ensure patient-/family-centered care, and coordinate interdisciplinary resources while maintaining precise documentation.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; if ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Minimum 1 year RN clinical experience in acute care.
• Virginia RN license or eNLC eligibility; BLS for Healthcare Providers required on start.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care and advocate for patients’ rights.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes and ensure proper documentation.

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join our 4S (IMC/PCU) team. This role will be part-time, Nights (2- 12 hour shifts) 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

The patient population consists of progressive care and intermediate care cardiac, neurological patients who require isolation, dialysis or larger beds. Registered Nurse (RN) 4S (IMC/PCU) Job Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate's degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in: Intermediate Care Unit is strongly preferred. Open to RN experience in Observation/Overflow, ED, PCU, Cardiac Telemetry and Med Surg units.
