Job summary

Majestic Care of South Bend seeks a Registered Nurse to render skilled nursing care on an assigned unit under the nursing management team and to supervise CNAs to ensure high-quality resident care. The role focuses on compassionate, resident-centered service in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• RN license active and in good standing in state of employment.
• CPR certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Implement physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments as required.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within state scope.
• Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures.
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.

Position Overview:

Majestic Care RNs render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
