Job summary

Majestic Care of South Bend is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our compassionate team. You will provide skilled nursing care to residents on an assigned unit, supervising CNAs and ensuring high-quality care in line with our mission.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, administering medications, documenting outcomes, and coordinating with physicians. A nursing degree and active state license are required; CPR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Active RN or LPN license in the state employed (license must be active).
• CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs.
• Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within the Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care when residents undergo therapy or procedures.
• Institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Position Overview

Majestic Care Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an RN or LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
