Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join our 4S (IMC/PCU) team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. This full-time role offers day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible nurses.

The unit supports Progressive Care and Intermediate Care patients, including cardiac and neurological cases, with a focus on teamwork and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Virginia RN license or privilege under eNLC.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required at start.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and interprets data.
• Forms individualized care plans based on assessment and trends.
• Delivers patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides guidance to the team.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines for transitions.
• Documents all patient care activities per standards.
• Evaluates care processes and updates plans as needed.
• Makes clinical decisions to promote team development.

The 4 South (IMC/PCU) unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is comprised of 11 beds. The patient population consists of Progressive Care and Intermediate Care - cardiac, neurological, patients who require isolation, dialysis or larger beds. Ideal for candidates who possess strong time management skills, work well in a team -paced settings.

Registered Nurse (RN) 4S (IMC/PCU) Job Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in: Intermediate Care Unit is strongly preferred. Open to RN experience in Observation/Overflow, ED, PCU, Cardiac Telemetry and Med Surg units.
