Job summary

Excelsior Wellness in Spokane, WA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary 9–12 month assignment. The RN will deliver high-quality clinical care, work with the care team, and support operations in a fast-paced primary care and behavioral health setting.

The ideal candidate holds an active WA RN license, ADN (BSN preferred), and 2+ years in ambulatory or family medicine. Strong triage, documentation, and HIPAA knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in primary care or ambulatory settings is ideal.
  • Epic experience is a plus.
  • Strong assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI.
  • Excellent organization and communication; able to multitask.
  • Team-based collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and perform clinical assessments within RN scope.
  • Conduct independent RN visits per protocol and Medicare wellness guidelines.
  • Coordinate care across departments and with the medical team.
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during visits/procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered.
  • Support chronic disease management and patient education.
  • Review charts in EHR and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Complete prior authorizations and support care transitions.

Job description

Excelsior Family Medicine is an established integrated health clinic working in a cross‑disciplinary model of primary care and behavioral health services. Our dedicated providers encourage clients to engage in mental and physical health, and we are proud to support this with the right care at the right time.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary assignment expected to last 9–12 months. This position plays a key role in delivering high‑quality clinical care while supporting the overall operations of the clinic. The RN will work closely with providers, patients, and care teams to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated care delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, clinical competency in a primary care setting, proficiency with EHR systems, and the ability to balance patient care tasks with clinical operations support in a fast‑paced environment.

How You Qualify:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure through the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, ideally in primary care, family medicine, or an ambulatory care setting.
  • Epic experience a plus.
  • Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Core Responsibilities Include:

Clinical Duties (Primary Focus)
  • Perform patient triage and clinical assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice.
  • Perform independent RN visit per protocol and medical standard to include Medicare wellness visit.
  • Ensure seamless care coordination between multiple departments both internal and external.
  • Work with medical team members to maintain daily clinic flow.
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers.
  • Support chronic disease management, patient education, and care coordination.
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits and procedures.
  • Review patient charts in the EHR and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Complete prior authorizations and support care transitions.
Administrative & Care Coordination Duties
  • Perform clinical research per the direction of providers and support patients to maintain the highest clinical standards
  • Assist with patient communication, including follow‑up calls and care reminders.
  • Help manage patient records, forms, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health and medical providers to coordinate patient services.
  • Support emergency notifications and escalat*e* to appropriate staff as needed.
