Job summary

Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical and psychiatric nursing support to individuals with behavioral health needs. The RN will oversee LPNs who administer medications, oversee residents' day-to-day care, participate in treatment team meetings, coordinate medical management, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted West Virginia Registered Nurse license.
• Behavioral health nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and clinical guidance to LPNs who administer medications.
• Oversee the day-to-day nursing care of residents.
• Complete nursing assessments, screenings, and documentation.
• Carry out orders from physicians and other providers.
• Coordinate medical care and communicate with healthcare professionals.
• Attend treatment team and interdisciplinary meetings.

The RN will oversee LPNs who administer medications, provide oversight of residents' day-to-day care, participate in treatment team meetings, support medical management, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across multiple programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and clinical guidance to LPNs who administer medications.
• Oversee the day-to-day nursing care of residents.
• Complete nursing assessments, screenings, and other required documentation.
• Carry out orders received from physicians and other authorized healthcare providers.
• Coordinate medical care and communicate with healthcare providers as needed.
• Attend and participate in treatment team and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team.
• Serve as a medical liaison for individuals receiving services.
• Support the coordination and management of individuals’ healthcare needs.
• Complete nursing assessments associated with incident reports.
• Conduct medication counts and help ensure medication-management procedures are followed.
• Provide nursing guidance, education, and staff training as needed.
• Provide services across programs, including Residential Services, Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment, and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Licensure Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of West Virginia.
• Behavioral health nursing experience is preferred.
