Job summary

Edgewood Surgical Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our surgery team. This role is cross-trained in Pre-Op, PACU, and Operating Room nursing to support a seamless patient experience.

Our facility performs cataract extractions with IOL implants two days a week, and schedules are Monday and Thursday during daytime hours with no evenings or overnights.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience in perioperative, PACU or ambulatory surgery preferred; strong acute-care acceptable
• Excellent assessment, communication, critical-thinking and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and work across all areas of the surgical center

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Complete pre-operative assessments, preparation, education, and IV access
• Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring, pain/nausea management, and discharge teaching
• Assist with circulating duties in the operating room and maintain a safe, sterile environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists and the care team
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with maintaining an organized, efficient, and patient-focused surgical environment

This position provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while being cross-trained in Pre-Op, PACU, and Operating Room nursing. At this time, this facility performs cataract extractions with IOL implants two days a week.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the surgical experience
