The registered professional nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 1 is an entry-level position within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). It is responsible for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. The nurse assesses and manages patients' responses to home dialysis training and treatments, following protocols and communicating issues to physicians as needed. As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) team, this role involves decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.
All duties are performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policies, standards, and regulations.
This role involves heavy lifting, equipment movement, and prolonged standing. It may require moving equipment up to 200 lbs. and lifting solutions of up to 30 lbs. The environment is a healthcare facility with potential exposure to infectious materials. Coverage rotates among staff, and participation in on-call, night, weekend, and holiday shifts is required. Travel to training and patient locations may be necessary.
Oversight of LPNs/LVNs, RNs, and other staff as a Team Leader or Nurse in charge, following successful completion of training and experience requirements.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing School, current state license, CPR/BLS certification, and compliance with state practice requirements.
Entry-level for RNs with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing, with preferred experience in home dialysis therapy.
