Job summary

Baptist Health Corbin is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Part-Time 1st shift in the 3 North Surgical unit. The 36-bed floor supports postoperative care, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment with a focus on patient education and safe recovery.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, interprofessional coordination, procedures, and ensuring compliance. Leadership, licensure maintenance, and ongoing education are required to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program and current Kentucky RN license or work permit required.
• No experience required; Bachelor's Degree and patient care experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia, NIH Stroke Certification, Glucometer Training, Nurse Wound Care certifications required; may be obtained post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document patient assessments, care plans, and changes in condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care, education, and discharge plans.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform clinical procedures, implement provider orders, and respond to emergencies.
• Utilize critical thinking, SBAR communication, and sound judgment to promote patient safety.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and provide leadership and support to staff.
• Prioritize workload, facilitate patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Serve as a role model, resource, and mentor while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Participate in orientation, professional development, and shared governance activities.
• Maintain licensure, complete required training, and ensure regulatory compliance.
